Jaime Fitton & Glenn Hiott
Location: Charleston, SC
Glenn and I met in while attending the Salvation Army Church in Charleston, SC. I was in the praise band and he used to come to watch us practice on Wednesday nights. Afterwards we would go to CC's Pizza for late dinner with the whole group and our friendship started there. After a few weeks of "getting to know"eachother, things were starting to spark. On a raining night after practice, I asked him if he wanted to sit in my car and listen to a song that we were doing a randition of and he took me up on my offer. As he was leaving he left me his cell number on the back of his business card. I waited a few days and called him. Since then we have been two peas in a pod. We have our opposites; he's unbelievably patient and I'm not patient at all, he's very shy and I'm outgoing. But we are also very much alike in our family values and traditions and what we want out of life. Our kids all get along and my kids love him.
The night we got engaged was the most romantic night of my life. We went on a last minute getaway to Myrtle Beach. He got us a hotel on the beach and tickets to the Aquarium, which was very cool. We did some shopping and then had a very nice steak dinner with some wine. After dinner, we went back to our hotel and decided to take a walk on the beach. After about 45 minutes, he crouched down and drew a heart in the sand with our initials in it. I told him that was very sweet and he said that I wouldn't remember it in years to come. So he said "Maybe this will help you remember." And he dropped one knee and said "Jaime, will you be my wife?" It took all I had not to jump up and scream with joy. I of course said yes and he put the ring on my finger. It came so natural to him, like he hadn't even rehearsed it. So that is our story!
We are having our wedding ceremony and reception at Wescott Plantation in North Charleston, SC. Since it is at 6 pm, the attire is formal or nicely dressed. The reception will immediately follow the ceremony at the same location. Being that Glenn and I have lived together for over two years, we do not want tangible gifts brought to the wedding. We instead would appreciate it if you would send money to help pay for our honeymoon. The registry is for things to do/get once we get to the island, but you may also just send money via phone or mail to pay for the cruise. We appreciate all that you can do. Thank you.
The reception will immediately follow the ceremony and we will enjoy some good food. The bar service will be a cash and carry deal (pay as you go) so please have cash on you if you plan on drinking alcohol. We will also have a DJ to keep us all moving and having a great time!
There is lots of places to stay if coming from out of town. Several nice hotels with excellent accomodations. Also, if you are into golf, the clubhouse we are using for the reception/ceremony is located at a golf course so you are more than welcome to help yourself. There are several nice restaurants in the Charleston area as well.
We are very excited about having you all come share this memorable day with us and can't wait to see you! The planning is underway so I am sure you will enjoy yourselves.
